Looking out the window of the flight to Vienna
Just a block or two from where I was staying, I passed this monument daily. It memorializes the Russian and Ukranian soldiers that died taking Vienna during World War II. While Vienna had strategic importance, part of the reason for the offensive was to give Stalin a bargining chip during the post-war negotiations with the Allies. Worth noting that in 2014, the monument was covered in Ukranian colors to protest the Russian attack on Crimea.
Nice little burrito shop in Vienna. And hey, Agnostic Front!
Each night people come out to Karlsplatz to sit by the fountain and socialize. Little stalls sell beer and food.
Hunters in the Snow on display
Sadly I didn't get to see a performance of any of Beethoven's works, but I did walk past this statue each morning to get to the U-Bahn station from the Hotel Am Konzerthaus.
On the hot days of July, these misters were setup throughout the city to give people a place to cool off.

Looking east onto the city, with the green of Golden Gate park in the lower left and Mt Sutro in the bottom middle. The Bay Bridge connects to east bay with Mt Diablo in the middle distance. Home is just past the bottom right edge of the window frame.
